Good Morning Belize

Here is "Flat Jude" learning about the banana blossom. He also relaxed with a cool soda and lounged in the sun.

We are preparing for a brief trip to Belize City tomorrow. We will drive the Volkswagen up to Belmopan so the mechanic can give her a check up in preparation for the long drive north in July.

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter Sunday. I don't have any cute kid photos, so how about a coy elderly cat posing with an angel wing begonia? It was a gorgeous day in the mountains - the neighbors burned the old grass along the driveway and half of my field and I started trying to remove all the sand and rocks they'd plowed onto my lawn. They're trying to talk me into keeping chickens since I have this perfectly usable chicken coop . . . once one factors in the cost of feed, and of electricity in the winter, I don't see the cost savings myself. Plus - can any of you see me keeping chickens?

Amelie's birthday party 4/11

5 candles already?  What did you wish for?

Eerily quiet, it didn't last...

Pizza-thirty

Pizza night!

This is what 10 slices (crust included) will do to ya!

How many slices do I need to eat to get dessert pizza?

Bunny ears over easter dessert pizza.  That is chocolate pudding, oreo crumbles, dyed green shredded coconut, Jordan almonds and gummi worms.  (I didn't eat enough to get a slice....)

Tuesday night trip to the Flying Pie for gourmet night.  I got my required three slices of Zambini, AND discovered that two sodas after 7 pm equals a fidgity 2am bedtime.

Nana's last brew with us

I was told later there was a naked lady on the TV behind me

Someone was VERY pissed to see Nana go home.  We will miss you!

I was told not to post this picture, so of course I put it up!

We had a great visit with Mom.  A few errands of course, but mostly lots of naps, hoppy beer, good steaks and Thai food.  Mom braved the dungeon (our basement, but hey! we totally put a heater down there!) and was treated to a classic Boise spring.  Lots of wind, cold nights, blustery days, (some sun!), and a full-on blizzard on Friday while we ate terrific pizza at Casanova.  (You need to try the clam and bacon pizza next time...)  We can't wait to see you both this summer, and will work on getting our tickets to come down ASAP.

Family bike ride

This chair belongs in PG, yeah, alright?

Amy at the helm of the Mommy-train

Dad, Jude and Amelie hiding treasure for our bicycle game.

Somebody stuff a pencil down that crack!

We drug Nana out for a family bike ride on a cool Saturday to hide some treasures and eat beef Tongue at Gernika.  Nana bravely rode my LeMond cross bike in sandals and socks (chilly toes!)  Jude was on his mountain bike, and kicked some butt riding for about 7 miles!  Amelie was the engine of the Mommy-train, helping Amy make it downtown and (most of the way)  back.  Amelie and Dad split off for a bit on the ride back to hide more treasures for our Velocache game.

Nana back in the states

We are so glad to have Nana back home with us!  Now it is TOTALLY our turn to travel south.
